On December 3rd, 2020, the planning department held a workshop with the Planning and Zoning Commission where it initiated a Text Amendment to Title 12 Chapter 6 (Subdivisions) to reorganize in it’s entirely; to delete the Short Plat and Condominium project procedures; and amend requirements and amend requirements and standards of plats.
An additional workshop was conducted on January 7th. The now final draft ordinance is scheduled for a P&Z hearing on March 18th, 2021.
The county is proposing to include more requirements on minor land divisions to ensure adequate roads, septic approval for lots 2.5 acres or smaller, but at the same time, increasing the number of lots to be included in a minor land division up to 10. The divisions still would not include public input nor notification to neighbors, and do not need to meet most subdivision standards.
