So you want to learn more about land use, and how to address what’s happening in your area, but you’re not sure where to start. You’ve come to the right place.
Say, for example, there’s a project happening in your neighborhood, which you learn about through a mailer, a posted notice, or via social media such as Project 7B’s Facebook page, and you want to get involved. You can check out our ten-tip explainers on how to make a public comment about the project, or how to write a letter about the project.
If you run into terms that confuse you, consult our alphabetized land use glossary. If you want more in-depth explanations on community planning, zoning, comprehensive plans, or septic systems, check out those pages.
With the generous support of the Star Peak Foundation, throughout 2026, Project 7B will be creating and improving this land use Toolkit in order to offer basic and more advanced information to people trying to understand the sometimes-complicated world of land use.
The Toolkit will provide information on how to effectively engage in Bonner County land use decisions — and beyond. This is a one-year project to produce evergreen educational materials, so check back as we add more!
